About DoseTap

DoseTap is a smart pillbox which helps you to remember and monitor your medication schedule. DoseTap can:

  • Store your medications as per dosage time
  • Remind you when it is time to take medications
  • Track adherence
  • Help you to share reports with caregivers and doctors

DoseTap smart pillbox has intelligent sensors which record your input and provide feedback as per the medication schedule entered in the DoseTap app. These sensors also control the indicator lights and alarm system of the smart pillbox.

At the scheduled interval, the indicator light and alarm will guide you towards the compartment from which the medication has to be taken.

The indicator light and alarm remain active for a 30 minute window from the set time. These alerts get disabled once you open the correct compartment of the pillbox to take your medication.

DoseTap smart pillbox and app record all the usage data and give you insights into your medication intake patterns.

Getting Started with DoseTap

To connect DoseTap smart pillbox for the very first time, search for "DoseTap" in Apple App store (for iPhone users) or Google Play store (for Android users) and download the app. Switch on Bluetooth of your phone and tap on the "Device icon" in the DoseTap mobile app at the top right corner of the home screen.

You will see the DoseTap device with unique ID as a pop-up. Please tap on "Connect" and start using the device.

Your DoseTap unit comes with an instruction brochure that contains step-by-step details. Information tutorials have also been provided in the DoseTap mobile app which will guide you to get started. After setting up the medication schedule in the app, please switch on the mobile internet to sync the information. Once the sync is complete, the device will work in offline mode (without internet).

However, for trackng your progress, it is advisable to keep the DoseTap smart pillbox connected using Bluetooth, with your mobile device. Your caregiver will receive correct notifications if the pillbox is connected to your mobile phone.

Using DoseTap Smart Pill Box Daily

After syncing medication schedule in the DoseTap smart pillbox, the device will work independently of the mobile app. However, it is advisable to keep Bluetooth on and smart pillbox connected so that your medication tracker is updated. This way you and your caregiver receive correct and timely notifications.

DoseTap pillbox can store upto 7 days of medication for a 4 times per day dosing schedule.

DoseTap smart pillbox is made of FDA approved, BPA free ABS material. It is advisable to store pills in their pill strip packing.

The medicine trays are detachable and you can also keep your complete pill strips as it is.

DoseTap pillbox uses AA batteries, which are commonly used in TV remotes, clocks etc.. Average battery life is 2-3 months, after which the batteries have to be replaced. The battery life of DoseTap smart pillbox also varies by user, depending on usage and environmental factors.

The red indicator light on the pillbox will light up when the battery is low. You can also check the battery level in the DoseTap mobile app.

Each compartment can hold 5-6 tablets with their packaging. The medicine keeping trays are detachable and you can also keep the entire pill strip as it is.

The white indicator light at the top of each column tell you about the correct compartment from which the dose has to be taken. This will light up as per the medication time that you have entered in the mobile app.

At the set dose time, you will hear an alarm sound from the pillbox and the white indicator light will turn on for the compartment from which the dose has to be taken. The indicator light and alarm functions will work till 30 minutes from the set time.

This means that the battery level has fallen below 20%. Please replace the AA batteries in the pillbox.

Softly press the button on the top of the pillbox for 3-4 seconds, until you see the green light blinking.

To switch off the device, long press the top button (more than 10 seconds). In switch off mode, device will not show up in the DoseTap app for pairing.Please do not switch off the pillbox during daily use.

Replacement warranty of 1 year is offered for any manufacturing defects.

DoseTap pillbox runs on AA batteries - these batteries are commonly used in TV remote controls, clocks, AC remotes etc.

Best way to clean the DoseTap device is to use a damp clean cloth - make sure that you remove the excess water from the cloth before using it for cleaning. Do not immerse the device in water and do not get water inside the lids. Let the device dry completely before adding medicines in the compartments.

DoseTap is NOT water proof. Please do not put it in contact with water.

DoseTap can be used to keep injectables which have to stored at room temperature. It should NOT be used for injectables or vaccines which require storage at low temperatures or which require refirgeration.

Please open the DoseTap app. If the device icon at the top right corner is green in color, then that means that the pillbox is connected. If the pillbox is not connected, then the icon will be red in color.

On the "My profile" page, click on "Log Out". Device will be removed from your account after this action.

DoseTap smart pillbox communicates with the DoseTap app via Bluetooth. This pairing will enable you to add and/ or edit your medication schedule, receive alerts and alarms on the pillbox, receive notifications etc.

The DoseTap smart pillbox will be listed under DoseTap app only - this is for you to easily detect and pair the device.

Each DoseTap unit has 28 compartments (4 columns with 7 compartments in each column). Each unit can hold 1-4 weeks of medication depending on number of dosages per day.

  • 3-4 times a day - 1 week of medication.
  • 2 times a day - 2 weeks of medication. Columns 1 and 2 will become week 1 and columns 3 and 4 become week 2. Please schedule medication time accordingly in the DoseTap app.
  • 1 time a day - 4 weeks of medication. Each column will hold medication for 1 week. Please schedule medication time accordingly in the DoseTap app

Setting up and Managing Medication Alrams

Medication schedule can be entered in the "Manage Medications" section of the DoseTap mobile app. For more details, please refer to the instruction brochure or tutorials on the DoseTap app.

Please go to the "Manage medicines" section of the app. Click on the "Set Dose Time" icon to edit the alarm schedule.

Please go to the "Manage medicines" section of the app. Tap on the medicine which you want to edit and make the change. Please click on "Save" at the end.

Please go to the "Manage medicines" section of the app. Tap on the red "delete" icon on the medicine that you want to remove.

Sync or connect the device in the DoseTap mobile app. Go to the "My tracker" page, if the dose has been taken then you can see the dose as "Taken" against the date and time of the day. Tracker shows a dose as "Missed" if dose was not taken at the scheduled time.

Please check the medication schedule for that interval. Re-enter the medication schedule if the issue persists

DoseTap mobile app will enable you to schedule medication reminders, view your usage tracker, share adherence reports, set up refill reminders etc.

Please go to the "Manage medicines" section of the app. Tap on the medicine name in the list to view or edit the details.

Search for "DoseTap" in Apple App store (for iPhone users) or Google Play store (for Android users) and download the app. Switch on the Bluetooth and click on the Device icon at the top left corner (please check that the smart pillbox has been switched on). Connect to the smart pillbox and start entering your medication schedule

We release firmware and app updates from time to time to improve the functioning of smart pillbox and mpbile app. Please download these updates to ensure smooth functioning of the smart pillbox and mobile app.

Caregiver Function

You can add a caregiver in the "Caregiver" section of the DoseTap app. Your Caregiver can add/ edit your medication schedule and remind you if you miss doses.

Go to the Caregiver page on the DoseTap app. Here you can add, modify/ edit or delete a Caregiver.

Tracker and Reports

Yes you can share your reports or download to view. Please go to the"Reports" section of the mobile app and you can view/ share your adherence reports.

Medication adherence percentage refers to total number of doses taken versus total number of doses scheduled as per prescription in a certain period of time.

DoseTap calculates this as per medication schedule entered in the mobile app and feedback received from smart sensors in the pillbox.

Please go to the "Reports" section of the mobile app. Here you can select the time range for which you want to see the report. The report can also be shared with your Caregiver or doctor - please click on the "Share" button to send the report.
